What a ride!
We have just completed two intense and inspiring weeks of the Summer School
Planning and Design for the Just City, organised by the Centre for the Just City
Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, TU Delft, by Caroline Newton, Hugo Lopez and myself.
This year, we welcomed 80 students from 43 countries. There is incredible power in being in one room with so many students from all over the world, bringing so much energy, experience and commitment to our shared task: imagining how planning and design can contribute to cities that are fairer, more democratic and more sustainable.
The Summer School has now existed for 12 years, bringing together hundreds upon hundreds of students from across the world. Each edition reminds us that the Just City is not a finished idea. It is something we must continually seek, negotiate and build together.
